整條路線上落坡不少，大多為荒徑，但亦有不少路況崎嶇，需要爆林，甚少補給點(只有鹹田灣及大浪西灣有食肆及士多)，撤退路線極長。米粉咀及短咀路徑雜亂，支路甚多。路線對於體能、認路及技術相當具挑戰性。
