任雪1971年出生于中国河南省洛阳市新安县石寺镇，后毕业于郑州市长城铝业公司技工学校。1991年，因与洛阳铝矿矿长丁某之间的矛盾，任雪夥同曹琳琳以扳手殺害洛陽鋁礦礦長丁某女兒并焚尸。其后，曹琳琳很快遭公安抓捕，供出任雪，任雪随后被捕。1992年，任雪和曹琳琳均被判处死刑，剥夺政治权利终身。当年夏，任雪和曹琳琳被執行死刑槍決，任雪时年21岁脚本错误：没有“Unsubst”这个模块。。

2006年左右，任雪被枪决前后3张照片和曹琳琳被枪决前后3张照片共6张照片被传播至网上，在网上受到热议，不少网友开始挖掘任雪一案的幕后案情。其後更有网友前往任雪家乡进行寻访，写就《美丽的代价-任雪家乡寻访记》于网上发表。因任女長相清秀，有「最漂亮的殺人犯」之稱謂[1]。
