刑部大牢

Articles copied from Draft Namespace on Wikipedia could be seen on the Draft Namespace of Wikipedia and not main one. 刑部大牢，明清刑部关押犯人的地方，位于今天安门广场西侧，人民大会堂坐落的位置西南部分。在这部分中，北半部是刑部，南半部是大理寺。刑部大院坐西朝东，其大院的西南角和西北角设有监狱，即刑部大牢，临刑部后身胡同，京城有“刑部的后身儿——牢眼”这一歇后语。明代將刑部和監獄雅稱為「貫城」（因貫索星官代表牢獄），刑部大牢所在的坊便叫做貫城坊。
戊戌变法六君子被斩首之前，即关押在此。民国初期改为“京师看守所”，谋划暗杀宋教仁的洪述祖在这里被执行绞刑。1927年李大钊死前曾在此关押，并在此执行绞刑。
