劉康就讀於葵涌循道中學，為一名港獨支持者。劉康曾為學生動源成員，惟現時已退出。

向行政長官示威[编辑]
劉康於2017年11月明報校園記者活動中，在和出席的行政長官林鄭月娥全體合照時用手機展示香港獨立的標語向林鄭月娥抗議。事後劉康被校方問話，有學生動源成員到場聲援，最後劉康被學校口頭警告。事件引起公眾關注。[1]
涉藏有氣槍被捕[编辑]
在立法會修改議事規則期間，劉康在立法會附近因藏有氣槍被捕。[2]事後劉康被控告一項藏有仿製火器罪，於同年8月22日被裁定藏有仿製火器罪名成立，案件定於9月12日判刑。[3]
