早年該處的山坡遍布石屋及平房區[1]，而現在此道路只有小量建築物，並已經空置多年。當中包括住宅加惠臺，建於1960年代的前已婚警察宿舍及一所已經丟空多年的學校。[2]
2017年，政府公布將會於此道路上，佔地2.7公頃的山坡興建兩座公屋以及一座居屋，合共提供2,340伙單位，容納約7,500人。[3][4]
另外，為方便居民進出，土木工程拓展署計劃在域多利道興建天橋，貫通加惠民道和西寧街。[5]
