筆畫姓名學是依照其姓名的天格、地格、人格、外格、總格的筆畫數來判斷的，當中1、3、5、6、7、8、11、13、15、16、17、18、21、23、24、25、29、31、32、33、35、37、38、39、41、45、47、48、52、57、58、61、63、65、67、68、81是吉數，其他為凶數，若超過81則mod 81，另還有生肖姓名學，由每個生肖可以用和不可以用的字根來判斷，例如只有虎、蛇、狗是吃肉的生肖，因此只有這三個生肖可以用到「月」（大塊肉）或「心」（心頭肉）的字根，其他的生肖用到都會犯小人，或者感情會出問題。
