2012年創立YouTube頻道，最初名為「夜玥」，主要實況的遊戲為Minecraft。現已將過去實況影片整理成播放清單，命名為「放火黑歷史」。
目前常在Twitch實況，主要經營YouTube副頻道「火火放」，主頻道「放火 Louis」近期較少上傳影片。

小學在新竹縣竹東鎮上智國小，而於新竹市立建功高中國中部畢業，苗栗高中肄業，2014年前往新加坡留學，並於新加坡青景中學畢業，2016年11月20日回台。
曾自揭於國小一年級遊玩呼拉圈時發生意外，導致右眼視力受損。一年後右眼遭診斷罹患視網膜剝離，經過手術後失去右眼大部分視力。 [1]
開始從事創作影片契機為模仿中國大陸女孩炫富影片，此影片也受到非常大的關注，以此契機開始從事創作影片，因此這位女孩是放火能走紅的貴人，放火也曾直言沒有這位女孩，他或許不會從事這行業，若能找到她，必須當面感謝她的幫助。
2016年5月，頻道改名「放火 Louis」。此後的影片風格改變，並逐漸受到更多媒體關注[2]，知名度因此大開[3][4][5][6][7]。
2020年9月16日參加私人派對，在捷克論壇JKF女郎「青青」住處發生仙人跳風波，本人於10月22日至派出所報案，10月24日上傳事件回應影片。[8]
2021年2月25日，首次於YouTube上直播。再之後的3月27日，初次使用，並轉戰到Twitch直播。
2021年6月2日，在23歲生日的這一天，睽違半年發布影片《我要退出Youtube了？》，述說事件之後的心路歷程及以後想要做的事，正式宣布回歸。
2021年11月26日，開始實況寶可夢 晶燦鑽石／明亮珍珠挑戰全色違通關。因個人特色及其他實況主的宣傳之下，在Twitch的人氣逐漸上升。[9]
2021年12月30日，YouTube副頻道「火火放」（前名「放水 Louis」）重新經營，開始將Twitch上的實況內容精華上傳至此頻道中。
2022年4月23日，主頻道突破以往風格，從生活類型轉換成大型企劃為主。發布第一部大型企劃影片《我把自己關在白色地獄72小時，我崩潰了...》[10]，內容是放火將自己關在一個全白的房間72小時，過程中無法跟其他人交流，引發熱議[11][12][13]。凭该作入围第4屆走鐘獎最佳制作人奖及最佳節目獎。
2023年1月10日，因應Twitch的新政策及曾經被停權四次的紀錄（累計五次有永久停權的可能），改到YouTube的副頻道上直播，並啟用頻道會員功能。從此直播平台以YouTube為主，Twitch為輔。
2023年7月15、16日受邀參加日本獨立遊戲展脚本错误：没有“ilh”这个模块。，主持繁體中文圈官方直播[15]。
