東京是亞洲最多外國人聚集的城市，為了夢想、求學或工作...，來自世界與日本各地的「外地人」聚集於東京，在狹小的空間與機會中，掙扎與奮鬥。然而，他們寂寞嗎？他們的寂寞會是什麼樣子？他們上次感到寂寞的時刻又是什麼？本片藉由九位東京寄居者的訪問與想像，構出一個不為人所知的新東京面貌。
