他的演員生涯始於東京，但在亞洲主要國家成功建立了自己的無國界演員生涯。
他精通英語、中文和日語，是個Trilingual, 被認為是唯一一位能夠在亞洲國家用當地語言主演主角的日本演員。
2024 年，他在著名的新加坡英語電視劇《 夜櫻 / Last Madame: Sisters of the Night 》中擔任主角，在國際上取得了突破，並獲得了多項獎項和提名。

由福地祐介親自撰寫的回憶錄《逆境快樂/SOUL ACT1ON[5]》於2023年7月4日由尖端出版社出版[6]，在台灣每週新書類圖書排名中排名第七名。
他花了四年時間完成了他的自傳式圖文集，書中的所有插圖和底片照片均由福地祐介親自創作。
他在作者活動的採訪中透露，這本書是他先用日文寫的，連中文翻譯都是福地祐介親自完成的，然後請了一位中文母語翻譯來修潤語法錯誤。
這本書的核心主題是他作為演員的成長歷程以及改變他生活態度 / Lifestyle的關鍵轉折點[7]。
