蒋颖为蒋横长子，自幼聪慧，随父从军，在东汉平陇西之战随寇恂破高平、东汉灭蜀之战射伤公孙述，汉光武帝以金华为封地，列侯，仕至中散大夫，居迁居婺州金华县七星乡，后代分至抱川、杨溪、台州。
