鄭女士於哥倫比亞大學，獲得工業工程運籌學榮譽學士學位，副修經濟。在投身教育行業之前，曾於投資銀行工作，曾任高盛公司債券、外匯及商品部執行董事。[3]
鄭余除了是周大福教育集團的執行副主席，她亦擔任維多利亞教育機構旗下幼稚園的校監[4]、地利亞加拿大學校校董、地利亞修女紀念學校校董，以及香港威雅學校董事會成員。[5]
鄭女士的家族是海味世家，父親余永洲是海味大王，是海味行內十大進出口商之一。余家亦有在地產投資界發展，擁有一些商廈的業權。
2009年11月，鄭余雅穎於與鄭志剛先生結婚，於中環聖約翰座堂舉行婚禮[6]。
教育業務及慈善事業[编辑]
她於2009年聯合創辦ARCH Education，是一家以香港為總部的專業升學教育顧問機構[7]。
2020年，她創辦了鄭余雅穎培菁女性創效基金基金[8]，以提升女性在職場和社會上的地位。2021年擔任香港大學校董會委員。[9]
