故事大綱[编辑]
莊子喬（陳展鵬飾）和張心月（黃智雯飾）是兒時朋友，因為彼此父親犯下罪行，他們走上了截然不同的道路。月在父親入獄後，改名換姓，希望重過新生，即使結婚生女，也絕口不提自己的往事。喬則視父親（吳岱融飾）為反面教材，誓言不會重蹈上一代覆轍，選擇以保險調查員為職業。
兩人久未見面，因為一份一千萬的人壽保險而重遇。月的丈夫殷昊然意外身亡，然於數月前增加保額，而意外發生前又得悉月的身世，令喬懷疑這不是一宗意外……然的母親亦對月有所懷疑，遂向女警楊忻曉（湯洛雯飾）求助，曉揭發月和喬的身世，原來曉是當年案件的受害者之一。此時，另一宗死亡事件發生……
錯誤雖然發生，但只要找到隱門，就必有出路。

- 此劇是繼《純熟意外》及《守護神之保險調查》後再度拍攝以保險調查員為職業的時裝劇。
- 此劇風格與《與敵同行》、《忠奸人》、《迷》和《十八年後的終極告白》類似，而前三者監製亦為王心慰，後者女主角亦為黃智雯。
- 此劇大部份演員拍攝過《巨輪》系列及《失憶24小時》，而兩劇監製亦為王心慰。
- 此劇是男女主角陳展鵬及黃智雯繼《張保仔》後再度合作。
