黑狐精原先是白骨精的军师，是助纣为虐的帮凶，在白骨精和孙悟空战斗时，黑狐精也放出黑烟迷惑孙悟空，在白骨精被孙悟空打死后，黑狐精去碗子山波月洞投奔了奎木狼成为其手下。[2]
后来，唐僧只身一人误入波月洞，被奎木狼所抓，黑狐精变化成女人戏耍唐僧，把唐僧吓得魂飞魄散，又告诉了唐僧被白骨精挑拨离间，赶走孙悟空的真相，令唐僧追悔莫及，后孙悟空大败奎木狼。黑狐精见事不好，企图逃走，被猪八戒打死。[3]
