- 媒體報道自5月31日衛福部公告交通部所屬5航空站設立篩檢站后[2]，中國大陸廈門市衛健委2日通報，發現2例臺灣新冠輸入案例。 進一步調查後發現，有一個人在臺北山機場手持PCR核酸陽性檢測報告，順利順利地登上了前往廈門的航班，到達後才通知，直到落地后才被發現。同班機還有一名旅客雖持陰性報告登機，但也在廈門機場被驗出陽性。隨後臺灣立榮航空對外承認地勤疏忽導致旅客登機，臺灣交通部民航局要求立榮航空立即提出檢討改善報告。截至6月2日，中國大陸福建廈門市已發現9例臺灣輸入病例。廈門衛健委表示，6月1日0—24時，新增境外輸入新型冠狀病毒肺炎確診病例3例，其中2例病例都與臺灣地區有關[3]。

- 彰化喬友大樓發生火警，起火點位於2樓，之後火勢波及1至4樓，濃煙竄到9樓的防疫旅館。共造成4死21傷，死者全都聚集在九樓。[12][13]死者中有一名消防員，為了救人而「空氣瓶氧氣耗盡」倒浴缸殉職。[14]另有一名死者陳姓傳教士在生前錄了5分鐘的影片，在影片中提到防疫旅館業者說火災警報是誤傳，叫大家不要亂跑。但自己覺得火勢越來越大，有點危險，可是又擔心跑出去被罰錢，於是就待在房裡等待火勢控制，在昏迷前的最後一通電話也住防疫旅館姚姓傳道士說「我不行了」，最後等不到火勢控制就已死亡，[15][16][17][18]火勢經搶救8小時後撲滅[19]。
