2020年6月12日，野火娛樂、聯聯看娛樂製作，由楊丞琳及潘瑋柏擔任首席導師、陳漢典擔任助教的節目 - 《菱格世代Dancing Diamond 52》(簡稱DD52)正式播出。節目將104位參賽者分為撲克牌的四個花色組合，並依每個花色，個別成立風格各異的四個子團互相競逐。其中節目中代表紅心的烈焰之心經由導師的評分獲選為冠軍團，透過節目賽制篩選出的八位選手最終出道。但其中一名成員潘立婕因為家人希望她能先完成學業，因此在總決賽播畢之後，隨即宣布將不參與出道。並於節目播出當晚立即宣布，將於出道日2020年9月5日發行首張數位專輯，並上架於各大平台。實體專輯也將在2020年9月29日上架。

2020年9月5日中午，舉行出道記者會，並宣布未來組合名將訂為G.O.F (Girls On Fire) 。10月31日，官方社群公開官方粉絲名，粉絲名為「卡西法」。

2020年9月6日，有網友質疑DD52節目總決賽結果為內定，其質疑理由為專輯上架時間比總決賽時間要早，DD52官方於9月8日作出說明，指專輯數位上架發行時間標示設定，必須依據歌曲的首次發行時間，而專輯中第一首數位發行歌曲「別再欺騙我的愛」單曲發行時間為2020年6月27日，由於平台設定問題，G.O.F成團7人的版本，需沿用同一版權編碼，以避免與YouTube等其它影音平台版權資料衝突，導致節目影片被下架，因此才會出現專輯上架時間顯示比總決賽時間早的情況[2]。
