勞浚銘生前就讀德信中學。[1]並在2009年就讀中四時在ZESPRI傑出青少年運動員選舉中武術項目得獎。[2][3] 勞浚銘曾與瑜伽教練周慧賢交往。在命案發生數月前，周慧賢到警署報案，指遭到勞浚銘以情慾照威脅。[4]後來兩人關係一波三拆，周慧賢決心與勞浚銘分手，因而使勞浚銘心存怨恨。 在2022年6月29日，勞浚銘在周慧賢前往美國進修前夕，到其位於深水埗的寓所帶走周慧賢，並帶到香港麗思卡爾頓酒店一房間內。勞浚銘在酒店客房內用刀砍殺周慧賢，並把周慧賢屍體浴江內放血。事後警方就周慧賢失蹤時接觸勞浚銘，勞浚銘稱不知周慧賢去向。其後勞浚銘在律師陪同下向警方自首，並交出客房門卡。警方到麗爾卡思頓洒店房間內發現周慧賢屍體。警方其後正式落案起訴勞浚銘謀殺罪。[5]
