起源[编辑]
《南洋奇聞》是渣古叔叔所嘗試和主持的第二個Podcast節目，第一個實際上是以殭屍或活屍為主題的《劈頭一句 Aim For The Head》。在2020年COVID-19疫情期間馬來西亞宣布實行行動管制令，長期在家無法工作拍戲，這時適逢其老闆兼合作夥伴看見Podcast在台灣爆紅的時機，提議嘗試進軍Podcast事業。於是渣古叔叔身先士卒，搭建他們的第一個Podcast平台名為《聲音新翅膀 Soundfly.FM》，並由老闆出門去要求其他演藝界和文創界的朋友嘗試建立iPodcast節目。為了了解整個節目製作至上線流程，渣古叔叔於是就創建了《劈頭一句 Aim For The Head》。
在做了六、七集之後，開始感覺題材的瓶頸，於是便打算建立另一個以真實犯罪和靈異為主題的Podcast，又不想和其他同類型Podcast太相似，因此想到以自己的主場、即東南亞一帶為主的故事為主題，並開始摸索方向、錄製試播節目。最初試錄的第一集是以馬來西亞頭號大盜莫達清為主題，但因試錄後效果不佳而放棄。
節目名稱最初為《南洋奇譚》，但是因為設計logo時的字體無法造出「譚」字，因此在正式上線時改為《南洋奇聞》。

《南洋奇聞》在各大主要Podcast平台上相機免費收聽，包括Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast, Audible, KKBox, SoundOn, Firstory, Amazon Music等，上線後大受歡迎，並在Apple Podcast排行榜上佔有重要名次。
