8岁開始师从曹正、刘维珊、项斯华、范上娥及张燕，1982年在中国少年民族乐器演奏大赛中获得第1名金奖，15岁进入中央音乐学院，掌握古筝五大傳統流派。1986年成為中国政府派遣美国举办音乐会的艺术团成员，得到“休斯顿名誉市民”的称号。1991年结识坂本龙一，随后参于電影《末代皇帝溥儀》的音乐製作。
與马场信子（日本筝）和朴顺雅（伽耶琴）组成“琴姬”筝乐团，在世界各地巡回演出。2000年8月在JVC发行古筝独奏专辑《淡麗なる中国古箏[[Category:含有Template:ISO 639 name ja的條目]]》。2001年10月在和平之月发行个人古筝专辑《悠 Breathing Spaces》。
