2020年3月11日，一位名叫郭偉鵬的30歲男子在鄭州確診為境外輸入性確診病例，因為隱瞞了境外旅行史，而導致多地人員被隔離。[1]
2020年3月13日，一位長居美國馬薩諸塞州的中國公民黎女士為了隱瞞病情，在美國登機前服用退燒藥，之後在北京查出。[2]
2020年3月16日，一位從義大利回來的留學生，因為白開水有雜質而要求防疫人員要給她乾淨的礦泉水而引發的爭吵。
這些事情使得民眾抱怨，進而引發出這句“家鄉建設你不在，萬里投毒你最快”的評論。
