徵羽這個姓氏取自於中國古代的五音「宮商角徵羽」（ㄍㄨㄥ ㄕㄤ ㄐㄩㄝˊ ㄓˇ ㄩˇ）（Gōng shāng jiǎo zhēng yǔ）
徵羽摩柯這個角色是透過向民間徵求創意而得，當時原作者給他起的名叫做「MOKO」。官方採用創意並再加以修改後將其命名為「摩柯」。
