下午1時11分，黃姓女子當時和姊姊出門要前往新店區，卻在新埔轉搭公車時被冷氣機砸死。墜落原因為李姓工人在17樓裝設冷氣時，誤以為冷氣已裝好而放手，冷氣機從高空墜落，砸死在等公車的該名女子。李姓工人被警方逮捕，訊後被依過失致死罪嫌送辦[3][4]。新北市勞動檢查處已勒令停工並介入調查，最終罰施工單位30萬元[5][6][7]
