据原唱者汪明荃口述：霑叔在创作此曲时正在纽约工作，因当时沒有传真机；故創作时出現困难，抑或在最後黃霑把此曲的歌词传送给唱片公司；因此她对《用爱將心偷》一曲仍然记忆猶新，视它为在纽约诞生的作品。[1]
