鳴琴路本來屬望后石路一部份。後來，政府將現屬鳴琴路的路段，以及龍門路路段，由望后石路分拆出來；而鳴琴路再由龍門路分折出來。
沿途建築[编辑]
山景邨(英語：Shan King Estate)：位於新市鎮西部、青山東麓，於1983年3月1日起入伙[1]。
兆畦苑(英語：Siu Kwai Court)： 位置背對菠蘿山，於1990年入伙[2]。
青田遊樂場(英語：Ching Tin Playground )：設有足球場及擁有大量空曠地方，環境清幽。
兆邦苑(英語：Siu Pong Court )：鄰近兆畦苑和青田遊樂場，於1991年入伙[3]。
盈豐園：位於良德街9號。入伙日期是1993年。盈豐園共有2座，提供600個單位。[4]
寶田邨： 原為寶田中轉房屋（英語：Po Tin Interim Housing），是香港房屋委員會轄下公共屋邨之一，位於新界屯門新市鎮西北部，第29區鳴琴路99號，毗鄰良景邨及田景邨。全邨共有9座樓宇，合共8,736個單位，於2000年6月開始入伙。[5]
