- 高雄市選舉委員會今日下午召開委員會議，審查高雄市第三選區（永安區、岡山區、燕巢區、彌陀區、梓官區、橋頭區）市議員高閔琳罷免案二階的補件情形，經查與第一次連署人重複連署者，達7,148人，符合規定人數僅2,499人，未達應補足的5,485人數，罷免連署宣告失敗不成案。被視為是繼前高雄市長韓國瑜遭罷免後發動「報復式罷免」高雄市議員的三連敗，另兩次包括民進黨籍市議員陳致中案二階連署未過、無黨籍市議員黃捷罷免投票未過。[1]

- 高雄市議會議長曾麗燕疑涉及浮報助理費多年，18日被檢調單位搜索及約談。曾麗燕議長室及服務處一早都被搜索，調查局南部機動站傳喚她說明；至於涉案浮報助理費人數及款項及啟始年度都待進一步釐清。19日凌晨經檢方複訊，諭令曾麗燕以新台幣200萬元交保候傳，至於協助她經手助理費的胞妹曾麗鴻於檢方訊問時，被認定疑有申報不實、供詞避重就輕之嫌，擔心她有串證之虞。則被檢方向法院聲請羈押。胞弟曾華富以涉《貪污治罪條例》10萬元交保，吳姓助理5萬元交保等[2][3]。

- 2021年苏伊士运河阻塞事件：台湾长荣海运承租的巴拿马籍货轮“长赐轮”在苏伊士运河意外搁浅，导致运河被堵塞，大量船只受到影响。[4]

- 已入獄的前南投縣長李朝卿涉嫌藉辦理南投縣政府莫拉克風災復建工程等120多項工程時與妻舅、秘書等人向包商收取賄賂、回扣，共111罪，當中8罪定讞。中華民國最高法院今日駁回李朝卿另9罪的上訴，各判刑12年定讞，其餘94罪發回更審。李朝卿自2018年10月25日因8件貪污罪定讞而入監，8罪各判刑12年至14年不等，總計98年，法院之後裁定8罪應執行有期徒刑14年8月。李朝卿另9件貪污罪的上訴駁回而定讞，9罪刑期合計108年。[5]

- 臺南市議員王家貞被控涉嫌詐領助理費，臺南檢調單位今日上午前往王家貞位於東區的服務處、住處及市議會研究室等地同步搜索，並帶回多人進行偵訊。成為臺南市議會這1年多來，第7起現、卸任議員涉詐領助理費遭到偵辦。[6]
