广东财经大学法学院是广东财经大学的下属学院，前身为广东商学院法律系，创立于1993年，现任院长为邓世豹教授。创立时是应广东省政府之号召，为将广东商学院升格为「广东法商大学」而作准备，而学院建院时亦以之为理由，惟其近20年过去，「广东法商大学」尚未见踪影。[1]学院现有两个系，开设法学、治安学两个本科专业，并有“宪法学与行政法学”、“诉讼法学”、“法学理论”、“民商法学”四个法学硕士授予点，同时获得“法律硕士”授予资格。该学院被认为是华南地区实力最强的法律院系之一。
历史沿革[编辑]
1992年，广东省政府决定将广东商学院升格为“广东法商大学”。1993年，广东商学院成立“法律系”。同年开始招收“法学”、“国际经济法”二个专业本科生。 1994年，增设“经济法”专业。
1999年，广东商学院法学院正式成立。同年原有的三个专业合并为“法学”专业。 2001年，增设“治安学”专业。2003年，“宪法学与行政法学”、“诉讼法学”以满分成绩获得法学硕士学位授权。2005年，“法学理论”、“民商法学”以满分成绩获得硕士学位授权。
2007年，学院获得“法律硕士（J.M）”授权。
