打齋

在廣東、香港、馬來西亞地區，打齋一詞，引申為請法師或香花僧、喃嘸師傅為死者超渡[8][9] 。
另一種稱為抵齋，閩南稱「認菜盤」，有的人很有自知之明，知道自己無法保持素食，那還有一個方法「抵齋」，主要是提供素食給他人享用[10]。抵齋，也是一種替身的形式，即如有人許願齋食發現無力完成諾言還願，就改為布施免費的素食餐點，供應他人食用，比如食齋三個月，可以用一個月三十天，一日三餐加以計算，就直接布施九十個素食飯盒，意思是由眾人代替自己食齋[11][12]。
