漢語神學語境乃是使用語言學的視野但只專門分析：漢語此一語言在「被動翻譯」與「主動論述」神學內容時產生的特殊處境。一般而言，是著重於分析某些字眼無法準確被翻譯成中文的原因。

漢語神學語境目前只是一個名詞，尚不成一項專門的研究。論者通常只是做常識性的論斷，不必定會引援語言學的學說。
- 1990年代漢語神學運動興起以後，此詞便常被使用在他們的論述中，並且將論述提升到「文化比較」的層面上來。在這個部份，該運動提出了名為「漢語基督教文化學」的研究主題，其內容涉及許多文化學的理論基礎。
